Appearance
Moderate intensity with a medium ruby core and a tawny rim.
Nose
Medium intense aromas of very soft and mature black fruit: blueberries and black cherries, black currants and a mineral hint of tar and smokiness.
Palate
Moderate acidity matched with well-integrated silky tannins. It is a medium bodied wine with marked levels of fruitiness reminiscent of very ripe blue berries and complex flavours of tobacco, oak, liquorice and savoury nature. Generous alcohol and a highly pleasurable long finish.
Conclusion
A very elegant and well-balanced wine that reflects a successful vintage. It is excellent to drink now but will keep for another 6-7 years.
