The 2002 vintage was characterised by an exceptionally dry winter. The temperature during summer, especially at night, was mild when compared to previous years.
Destemming, 18 days maceration, temperature controlled fermentation. Minimum of 12 months maturation in new french oak barrels

Appearance
Pale intensity with a light ruby core and a defined tawny rim.
Nose
Moderately intense developing aromas of soft black fruit: black berries and a mineral hint: tar and smokiness.
Palate
A moderate acidity with thinning levels of somewhat sharp tannins. It is a medium bodied wine with notes of fruity notes of mature blueberries and secondary flavours of a gamey and savoury nature. The wine has moderate alcohol and a medium finish.
Conclusion
This wine may benefit from further bottle ageing which could soften the tannins rendering the wine more approachable.
