Margaret Farrugia

Born in Sliema, Malta in a family of artists. Margaret was always fascinated by art and she was inspired by her father who was a self taught artist.

Residence & Art Studio – Birkirkara.

Family – married to Joseph and has three children.

1993 – Started taking seriously her love for art at the Malta School of Art. She pursued her studies under the guidance of well-known artist Harry Alden.

1995 – Joins the Malta Society of Arts, Manufactures & Commerce.

1998 – Obtained a diploma from the Malta School of Art, where her final project was inspired by the beauty of the human body.

2004 – Collective Exhibition at the Manoel Theatre – ‘Inspirations’.

2005 – Collective Exhibition at the Valletta Waterfront – ‘Fantasies by The Sea’.

Participated in the Arts Festival at the Luxe Pavilion, Portomaso CHOGM exhibition.

2007 – Embarked on a new project together with various local artists in collaboration with Heritage Malta. This exhibition, entitled, 60x60x60, was an EU funded workshop of creative installations led by Portuguese artist-in-residence Sancho Silva.

2008 – Collective Art Exhibition – ‘Ir-Rotta ta’ l-Arti Indipendenza 2008’ (‘Art Route’, Independence Day 2008).

Participated in a collective Art Exhibition at ir-Razzett tal-Markiz, Mosta – ‘Diversity in Art’.

Participated in ‘The Man and the Critic’, a homage to Emmanuel Fiorentino, at the Gallery Last Touch, Mosta.

2009 – Participated in a collective Art Exhbition at Art..e Gallery, Gozo – ‘Six@5’.

Participated in the Silver Palette competition, organised by the Malta Society of Arts, Manufactures & Commerce.

2010 – Participated in the Women's Day Exhibition on the occasion of International Women's Day at San Anton Palace.

Participated in the Holy week Activities at ir-Razzett tal-Markiz, Mosta.
